Summer Festivals and Events

Summer weekly program

Tuesday Ellmau Summer Night

Every Tuesday from 6 p.m., the entire village street in Ellmau becomes a car-free shopping street with refreshment stands where bakers, butchers and innkeepers serve up their specialties such as doughnuts, dumplings and sausages. In between, various live groups play traditional and modern music, providing hearty entertainment in beer gardens on every corner.

Wednesday Concert Ellmau

Open-air concert by the musicans of Ellmau Music Band in the music pavilion. Enjoy the sounds of tradition and modern compositions. The concert starts with the musicians marching in a parade. As part of the open-air concert, Ellmau also thanks its regular guests for their long-standing loyalty with a small souvenir. Admission is free.

Wednesday Get-together Söll

Söller innkeepers, shops, craftsmen, musicians and the tourist association invite you to the weekly Z’sammkemma (get together) evening in the Söller pedestrian zone. You can learn about traditional folk art and crafts and stroll past stalls selling delicacies. Folk music sets the mood and a children’s program allows for a great experience for the whole family.

Thursday Dorfabend Scheffau

At the Scheffau Dorfabend (Village Evening), the location of the square alone promises a cozy get-together. Directly below the church in the middle of the village with fantastic views of the Wilder Kaiser, locals and guests meet for the weekly open-air concert by the Scheffau Music Band. There are also various stalls offering culinary delights. Free entry every Thursday at 7.30 p.m.

Friday Art & craft market Going

Going still has a lot of its original flair, so it’s no surprise that a very special tradition is still being maintained. On six Friday evenings in the summer, almost forgotten customs are brought back to life on the picturesque little village square. When craftsmen, artists and farmers from the village and the surrounding area take up their positions at their stalls, the streets are transformed into little open-air studios, featuring tradition arts and crafts.

Festivals and special events

Kaiserschmarrn-Fest Ellmau

The Ellmau innkeepers are holding a festival with “Kaiserschmarrn specialties” (traditional pancakes) accompanied by Tyrolean music. Whether classic or as a side dish to another dish, various Schmarrn variations await you. At 12:00 p.m. the innkeepers march in with the Ellmau Federal Music Band in a parade that opens the Kaiserschmarrn Festival.

Midsummer fire night

The night when the mountains shine.
Every year, numerous clubs from the region set out to light their bonfires on this evening and celebrate the longest day of the year. Shortly after nightfall, large solstice fires shine from the mountains and provide a mystical backdrop. The fires are also known as St. John’s fires or fire burning.
