Kaiserbad Ellmau

The KaiserBad offers pure fun for the whole family with indoor and outdoor pools and a flow channel leading outside. There are four water slides (‘Blue slide’ 92m, ‘Black Hole’ 91 m, ‘Turbo Slide’ 55m, and broad slide). There is also a kid’s pool with a water playground and slide. We also have an organic lake with 2 diving boards. Adults can relax in the wellness and sauna area.

Goinger Badesee

The Goinger natural lake is located right on the edge of a forest with panoramic views of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, which seem close enough to touch. The water warms up to a pleasant 24 degrees. There is a white sandy beach with a separate shallow kids and non-swimmers bay,  100m long open-air slide and extra-wide water slide, and a large playground. A day out in Tyrol’s most beautiful natural swimming lake is a holiday hit.

Hintersteinersee & Ahornsee

The Hintersteiner See in Scheffau is a spectacular mountain lake. There is a lido here, the appeal of which lies in its natural beauty. A hike around the Hintersteiner See is a magical experience. Ahornsee Söll – “Söll refreshes” in many ways, culinary, physical and physical. This includes a swim in the new lake in the middle of town, for cooling off and fun, for example at the diving tower.

Ellmi’s Zauberwelt Ellmau

On the Hartkaiser in Ellmau, Ellmi’s Magic World encourages you to take a mystical journey on the trail of the sorcerer’s apprentice Ellmi, who was transformed into a large frog by goblins. In order to redeem him, his young successors are given a treasure map and have to complete a number of tasks in the magical world along winding paths full of surprises.

Kaiser Welt Scheffau

In the Kaiser World at the top of the Brandstadl lift in Scheffau, a good-humored emperor invites all the “crownlings” to his castle and the unique realm where they can do climbing, run around and play to their heart’s content. A adventure course forms the core of the Kaiser World, but the hike through the enchanted forest is also a hit, as is the view from the tree houses. Immerse the kids in  creative enviroment in the craft workshop.

Hexenwasser Hochsöll

The Hexenwasser mountain adventure world in Hochsöll has been delighting children and adults with gentle natural spectacles for over ten years. Enjoy Austria’s longest barefoot path over grass, bark mulch, massaging stones and rippling water. There are over 60 stations where all the senses are stimulated in a new way. The kids can also play with the various water games along the way.

Numerous newcomers as well as experienced players who want to improve their short game come to test their skills on the course. Steep inclines, water hazards, the nearby forest and also the relatively small “greens” require precise play in order to achieve a good score.

HIKING IN THE WILDEN KAISER

Hiking trails

The striking rock towers of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains are the landmark of the Wilder Kaiser region and provide the perfect backdrop for hiking. Marked hiking trails lead through mountain forests, lush flowering meadows and alpine mountain trails. The gently rising grassy mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps opposite are much easier to hike thanks to gondola lifts and panoramic paths.

Over night trips

Discover the Tyrolean Eagle Trail, whose first three stages of the main route lead through the mountains. Hike along the rugged cliffs of the mighty Wilder Kaiser, or go on a pilgrimage along the Tyrolean Way of St. James. The 3-day hut hike is also particularly recommended – starting from the village of Going and going from hut to hut to Hintersteinersee in Scheffau. Or hike around the Wilder Kaiser in 5 days.

Hiking tips

Enjoy the various marked hiking trails throughout the Bergwelt. They are accessable by gondola or by foot. Stop for lunch at one of the numerous mountain huts with magnificant panoramic views.
A highlight is a hike around the Hintersteiner See and to the Walleralm which is a magical experience. For fans of “Der Bergdoktor” TV series, the hiking tour is a must.

1. Kneipp village in Tirol

Since 2007, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser has been the “1. Kneipp for me® Adventure Village of Tyrol” and invites you to seven adventure and relaxation stations along the Kneipp circular path. “Birth and Renewal” is the name of the first section of the Tyrolean Eagle Trail in the Wilder Kaiser above Scheffau. Healthy fun for the whole family.

Mountainbiking and E-Bike

The towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll belong to the world’s largest e-bike region “Kitzbühel Alps – Kaiser Mountains”. The Wilder Kaiser region offers various guided mountain bike tours of different riding levels every week from May to October, starting from Going (bike and e-bike rental is also available). The gondola’s of the Bergwelt are also open for bikers.

Trail Riding

Hahnenkamm Trail: according to the motto Ride the Hahnenkamm. Dream panorama, full action on the coolest flow trail in the Kitzbühler Alps. Odtrails: Trail park with a variety of trails with all levels of difficulty. SunTrail: Starting at the Berggasthof Nieding the “SunTrail” is a single trail which is 2.4 km long, with approx. 200 m of altitude. Easy, flowing trail.

Pump track

In the immediate vicinity of the Ahornsee in Söll one of the largest bike technique courses (Skill Park – Pump Track) in Austria awaits action-loving holiday makers.
In addition to the pump track for bikes, boards, scooters and skates, there are also two varied beginner trails.

CLIMBING AND MOUNTAINEERING

For generations our area is one of Austria’s most historic climbing mountain destinations. Well-known names such as Totenkirchl, Fleischbank-Ostwand or Pfarrstuhl inspire awe and sporting ambition in alpinists. To complement the Alpine classics on the Wilder Kaiser, numerous sport climbing routes have been created in the Achleiten, Multerkarwand and Schleierwasserfall climbing gardens. Newcomers to the vertical will find reliable partners in the mountain guides of the Wilder Kaiser region for their first easy alpine tour or climb in the mountains.

Pony Riding & Horse-drawn carriage tours

Astberg Pony Alm

It’s all on horseback when you take the Astbergbahn chairlift to the top of the mountain. Up here, in front of the panorama of the Wilder Kaiser, is the Pony Alm. With 20 ponies and a large playground, it is a true paradise for big and especially small visitors. Together with their parents, children can explore the Astberg area on the back of a pony.

Horse-drawn carriage ride

Enjoy the peaceful and fantastic landscape of the Wilder Kaiser region and really slow down. Horse-drawn carriage rides are ideal for this. Bergdoktor - Filming locations

The Wilder Kaiser is the setting for the well-known television series “Der Bergdoktor”. Every year the new season is filmed on location here. The four Kaiser towns Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll are home to many well-known filming locations such as the Gruber family farm, the Bergdoktor’s practice, the Wilder Kaiser inn and Hintersteiner See.
